Would this offer be "kosher"?

    Would it be against some unwritten (or written) rule to post ISO: Your favorite local IPA's FT: My favorite local IPA'S or something to that effect..... or do I have to list actual cans / bottles / brands? I think I have local stuff that is not heavily distributed out of my area that I think would be awesome to trade to other locales. I have done one trade, and it was a great experience. I just want to jump in a little more and stock my beer fridge with stuff I cannot get and would like to try.

    Not at all. There are still plenty of traders who love doing locals trades! I'd recommend you look in to a Beer It Forward - Rookies just opened, and I'm sure there will be another round in the near future.

    Thanks. I wanted to pose this question as I was not sure if it had to be listed by brand. Don't want to break any rules. I just know there are some beers I have had locally with a small distribution footprint that rank up there with the big ones, and I would like to trade my local good stuff for other local good stuff.

    Absolutely - go for it! There are plenty of traders who strictly hunt whalez - but there are lots of us who are always happy to trade for locals.

    Local extras are actually my favorite part of most trades. Receiving beers that you've never heard of is pretty cool.

    I have locals that I think stand right up there with the big guys, but no one will ever hear of them unless they are from the area.

    There are no rules on how specific your trade post needs to be. However, the more specific, the more bites you'll likely get. Post the title it like you have it there, but go into a bit more details of what local breweries/beers you have access to that you think are good in the post itself.

    Once I load up on some of my favorite locals, I will put them up and see what kind of hits I get. I have some locals in mind that will stand up to the usual named / most rated beers in BA. Others need to experience them. Thanks for the feedback, fellas. Cheers!

    This is a great idea! If you want to try some Chicago IPAs, hit me up once the weather warms up a bit.

    Edit: that is if you're willing to trade with an Eagles fan (originally) from Trenton.

    Don't trade with this guy. He acts like an upstanding citizen, but then he changes his avatar so frequently you can't keep track in your local forum! Legit maddening! Also clearly a liar, as he said he was going to change it back to his OLD avatar after the SB. Pfffft. Can't be trusted!

    Funk! So a couple of their beers are brewed at Great Central Brewing here in Chicago - Ive gotten to try their stuff brewed out here and its fantastic so Id love to try the stuff they brew themselves!
