I liked the 21st Amendment oyster stout quite a lot.

I'll pass on the Rocky Mtn oyster stout.

I've had the oyster stout and it was surprisingly tasty. It finished with a nice briny taste that felt as if I was eating fresh oysters and drinking a beer.

An interesting beer that I tried recently was the Kelso Fuku:

"Kolsch/wit/rauchbier with a touch of salt and sour malt. Smoky, minerally, fruity, salty, and dry."

Though I felt the smoke and the salt dominated way too much.

I've had a few Oyster Stouts and all of them were really pretty good.
I have also tried Kelpie which came in a friends Beer Of The Month shipment and it wasn't bad ..... wasn't good either.
Don't get me started on the Maple Bacon disaster

I would at least try a sip of each of them. You never know which weird combinations actually wind up being pretty tasty.

I thought the Oyster stout was pretty good. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they actually brewed with just the oyster shells? Or do they actually brew them with the oysters?

Oh, and that Bacon Maple from Rogue was one of the worst beers I've ever had...

If "drink" is defined as taking a sip, then yes. If "drink" is defined as 12 oz., then no.

Can I just say no to all the above? I realise someone will say that's the easy way out, but just no!

I would trust an oyster stout much better if the brewer was on an island or on the coast. 21st Amendment seems to care about their beers, don't know about Wynkoop. Kelpie is quite good, as are all of the brews from these Scottish originals. As for the remainder, I'll just have a Foothills Jade and not worry about pizza, bacon-maple, coconut, or avocado choices. The Spirulina does sound intriguing. I like ocean stuff, and a good oyster stout is beautiful with the obvious food choice. Good oysters are nearby!

    1. Avocado Ale - Angel City Brewing - No, I don't like avocado
    2. Oyster Stout - 21st Amendment - I'd try it. I thought oyster stout normally just meant it was supposed to go well with oysters though? I don't think Marston's Oyster Stout has oysters in it!
    3. Coconut Curry Hefe - New Belgium - Yes
    4. Spirulina wit beer - Free tail brewing - (its an algae beer) - I guess so. Colour is off-putting though.
    5. Kelpie Seaweed Ale - Williams Bros Brew - Yes. I can probably get this.
    6. Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout - Wynkoop Brewing - Beer made with meat? Is it like this: http://zythophile.wordpress.com/2010/04/22/mercers-meat-stout/ ? I'd give it a go.
    7. Bacon Maple - Rogue - No.
    8. Pizza Beer - Mamma Mia! - No
