Brought my new Stone growler into a Growler Guys store about a month ago. Went to clean out the growler today because filling it tonight with Lukcy Bastard!! But anyways there's writing on the side of the name of the beer I got from Growler Guys, and it looks to be in a silver sharpie....it won't come off with water...

The fact that they would write on people's growlers in permanent marker really makes me question their IQ levels...

Any way to get it off?

Turpentine will take almost anything off.

Paint thinner, maybe nail polish remover, and a long shot - write over it with a dry erase marker and wipe away.

    Nail polish remover.

Don't know what your local/state rules are, but maybe they have "label" it with the actual beer, like some places have to.

Pretty sure Old Guardian was designed (in part) for problems like this. In fact you may need two.

When I fill multiple growlers at my store, I use a wine glass marker, or a grease pencil to mark the bottles...they both come off with minimal effort

Try some Gasoline that will remove it . but i agree. I would not want them to write on my growler ..

I just had to remove permanent marker from a fridge and rubbing alcohol did the trick.

Founders slaps stickers on the sides of other breweries growlers, minor legal disclaimer. Why would you question the clerks IQ? This may be the store policy. If you don't like it either don't bring a fancy new growler there or get fills at other places.

Try Founders Devil Dancer. Stuff is stronger than gasoline.

You don't happen to know the Growler Guys policy and procedure nor state and local laws involved in filling a non GG growler, do you?
