Anybody using these to divert the path of water and wort around the brew system?

I just bought three of them thinking that all three connection points were 1/2 inch NPT, and it turns out that the top portion with the threaded cap is actually a much larger opening. Is there a coupler or transition piece that can be used to connect that portion to a 1/2 inch NPT fitting? I was hoping to remove the filter screen and put a 1/2 inch ball valve on each end of the split.

    Thanks

    Thanks for this info.

Unfortunately, it sounds like this won't work, as I reached out to the manufacturer with same question, and heard back that the capped thread is non-standard in order to prevent people from doing precisely what I'm trying to do. Pretty frustrating, as they bill this item as a fitting for brewing and didn't disclose that one out of three threaded portions was not actually 1/2 NPT. So I'll be returning them.
