Wyeast 3724/WLP565 wow!

    Yup. you got bad advice from that LHBS.

    My suggestions:
    • Take that pack of 1388 back and exchange it for 3724
    • Find another LHBS
    • When fermenting with 3724 be patient; be prepared for the possibility of a loooong ferment.

    Depending on which source you believe, it may be a mixture of up to 4 strains. I tend to believe it's more than one. But whatever is in there, it's 100% Sacch.

    Ok thanks for everyone's replies, that helps me a lot.

    I wish I could take the 1388 back but I needed to make my starter last night so it's already been opened and pitched. Next time I'm getting what I came for and not letting them talk me out of it!

    Sucks too cause they're usually pretty knowledgeable about things but on this one they def dropped the ball

    My current predicament makes much more sense now. I pitched 3724 in a Saison with some dregs 13 days ago. Pitched at 68 then brought it up to around 80-85 after day 1. I keep being surprised to hear a bubble coming from it but this makes more sense.
