I'm interested in brewing something with this as the primary strain. I haven't seen many postings about it, and was curious if anybody has any experience with it and what to expect. Sounds like its much different than the White Labs Brett L.
I assume something darker would be best- thinking of doing a stout or porter. Or maybe something along the lines of a dubbel/ Oud Bruin.
    thanks.

I actually think they're pretty similar...but never used 5526 so not positive. I've used White Labs version...co-inoculated with us-05...not positive I would go with that strain again...but turned out okay. Seemed like it was still developing after 6 months...so my suggestion would be to forget about it for awhile. Hopefully someone with more experience than my one & done will chime in though, or check out Mike Tonsmeire's blog: themadfermentationist.com cause my guess is he's used it more than once...

I believe the wyeast one has a bigger cherry pie presence, based on something I read.
