I see that Wyeast has three new "private collection" yeasts that have just gone on the market: see link below. There's a "west coast ipa," ESB, and farmhouse ale yeast. Anybody have any info about where these came from?

Standard disclaimer: I have no connection to Wyeast blah blah blah.

The west coast ipa sounds similar to the San Diego super strain from white labs to me

3726 is from Brasserie Blaugies, it makes a pretty solid farmhouse/saison has hints of pears/spice and is earthy

Ill have to pick up a pack, last time I saw it was Fall '08

I'm too lazy to look them up, but my recollection was Young's and Brasserie Blaugies for 1768 and 3726, respectively.
and you didn't ask, but: 1768 is nice but not different enough from 1968 to be something *I'd* look to brew with again. YMMV. I stick with 1968, 1469, 1028, and maybe 006 if it comes out again.
3726 might be my favorite yeast. I get lemon and pear esters and a light refreshing tartness. I like restrained phenolics and make a lot of Belgian Pale Ale so I use this strain, fermented cool, whenever it is available. And, if we were able to talk about cider I'd tell you the tartness and fruit works nice with apples. It has been coming out every 5 quarters in the last couple years - spring '11, summer '12, and now fall '13

can't tell you anything about the west coast IPA yeast, sorry.

    cheers--

The standard disclaimer is no good anymore. It's possible that wyeast's advertising has significant subliminal messages contained within, and that you have been turned into a zombie wyeast adverbot as a result. You'd better call your lawyer. :grimacing:

Haha, still always cool to have access to more yeast.

Here is a review of a Saison I brewed with the 3726 Farmhouse. I would love to use it again, they just need to get it off the every 5 rotation, I aint makin a Sasion for another 9 months.

I like 3726, bubblegum, pear, earthy spice, plays well with hops and large amounts of non-barley malt in the grist. Doesn't mess around with stalling, but won't go quite as dry as 3724/3725/3711/belle will. Haven't used the white labs saison strains enough to comment on a comparison with them.
