Haven't seen anyone talk about this new brewery. I went on Saturday night and the tap room is real nice, small cool vibe. The beers are reminiscent of Shnelby when they started brewing for the first time. Beers are very light tasting, they are probably still playing with the recipes. I had the Oscuro with the panther coffee, it was good. I was speaking to one of the owners and hopefully they will be brewing with funky buddha and CCB. They will also be starting a club soon which is great because it will give us a chance to be a member of something local that I can go to on a weekly basis.
I'm hoping to go down to Wynwood to check it out sometime soon (I'm in Ft Lauderdale). A friend of mine from work went last weekend and said their tap room was small and crowded, and the beer was decent. Last week I was at Funky Buddha in Oakland Park and they had 2 beers by Wynwood on guest tap (Wynwood IPA and another one). Didn't try them but maybe next time.
Thought their IPA was really tasty. Fresh piney and citrus notes. Heading to the taproom in a few minutes.
I honestly would like to see more breweries down here ease up off the seemingly skittish approach of keeping the flavors light and start pushing some envelopes. It's fine to have a core assembly of beers to fall back on, but the best breweries out there got that way from ceaseless experimentation and dedication to honing their craft. That said, I'm particularly excited for the openings of Gravity and JWB, to be honest.
I haven't heard anything spectacular about their beer yet, but I'll give them a shot when JWB opens. That's probably the only reason I would drive down to Miami....ever.
I had Wynwood's marzen at Funky Buddha last week and liked it quite a bit. I would have liked to take some home to have along with some smoked wurts from Emil's sausage place. It reminded me of something similar Samuel Adams did a few years ago, but with different hops.
