X-Mas Beer Surprises

My brother in law from GA who doesn't like beer shows up with 3 bottles. SA 13th Hour and SA New World Triple he won at an office party. Yes,it's Sam Adams,but obviously some of the more interesting stuff. He also brought a bottle from a friend at Burnt Hickory Brewery sealed in wax and hand numbered. Apparently there were only like 300 bottles of their bourbon barrel aged quadrupel,"Charred Walls Of The Damned." Well, my other brother in law and I had been drinking epic stuff,including having just prior to that Straffe Hendrick Heritage 2012. The rating did not fare nearly as well,but they were all a nice surprise!

Not as great as some of the posters in this thread, but I can't be upset with new glassware and a friggin' magnum of Anchor Christmas. This was to my girlfriend and me from her parents. The photo doesn't quite capture the size of the box or bottle.

 

A madison friend of mine brought up zombie dust, a local friend surprised us with a rr consecration, so i broke out a new glarus sour peach. a great christmas eve.

 

I guess that shirt is a "gotta live in Georgia to appreciate it" shirt but IMO that shirt is god awful. Looks like the kind of shirt a total beer geek would try to impress a 300 pound Bulldog fan with.

Well,it's not Christmas anymore,but came home to a mixed 6 of Westvleteren from the wife today. Speechless. This was after hitting the Side Project Cellar for a saison of theirs called Grisette. Fantastic beer day (and not over). My wife is awesome...

Too cool, I got the Abyss as well from the little lady, then Jungle Jim's got it in growlers the next day so we are laying it down till next year. You'll love the export stout as well as Sofie. Good stuff....God bless good women!

 

Pretty sweet that the ZD that hit Madison right before christmas was bottled less than a week prior, too.

 

While I did get a nice set of belgians from my brother, I fumbled a 750 of Abt 12 that I had bought for him, which shattered on my driveway and splashed all over my pants. The smell was enough to make me want to lap it up. I refrained.

 

Got a 4-pack of BCS and a Courage Imperial Russian Stout set that had 2 beers (2012 & 2013) and a glass. Very happy!

 

The guy posted that he liked a shirt he got from his wife and daughter. Why would you take the time to write a response just to be a dick?

I was quite happy with the three bombers from Pipeworks my daughter brought me.

 

And you got me back next week with Upland Sours and a local IPA. Totally surprised. I like taking care of great traders!
