    I guess he is not a BeerAdvocate Homebrew Forum regular, or else you may have ruined the surprise. One thing I suggest you do as a gift to him is point him in this direction. This forum has been a huge part of my learning about beer and brewing in the past 10 years.

    I have no idea whether you and your husband share a love of homebrewing. Do you spend time with him when he is brewing. If not, he may enjoy your company and help. I suggest a certificate that he can cash in to get you to help with bottling or some other aspect of brewing.

    On the other hand, you can't go wrong with Blichmann!
