Same idea as the 'BCBS in Austin' thread. Post if you spot it in the wild. Hopefully this isn't as hard to come by as the BCBS variants.

    You had it before?

*Edit.. just checked your hads, you didn't like it. Hence the skepticism. To me and most reviewers on BA it's a great beer, and it sold out very quickly in every part of the country that already got it.

I wonder if we'll get the variants. Or if those are CA only

Yep. The Charred and Anejo. They landed a few months ago in CA so I highly doubt that we'd see any here. Would be nice though.

Yea, I don't think there's plans for further distro yet. Apparently, the original charred bottles that came out were aged 7 months and the new versions hitting CA distro now have only been aged 3 months. I'd be happy with either though.

The skepticism is because it's a Stone beer. Have you ever seen a Stone chasing thread before? Have you ever heard of a Stone release that required one? I understand the popularity, but you could say the same for tons of Stone beers and they have stacks of all that stuff all over the place. I guess we'll see when it drops if this is silly or not. I actually planned on picking this up to try it again, but I figured I'd just grab a sixer from the 6 foot stack at WFD at my leisure. Maybe I'm totally wrong on that. They still have Southern Charred and Bastard in the Rye from months ago. Wootstout also sat there forever and I thought that had a similar following to Xoco.
Also, you're comparing it to BC variants and that just seems odd considering things like Coffee and Regal basically getting single cases dropped at a few locations and that's it. If WFD (just the one store) doesn't get 10+ cases of Xoco, then I don't know what the world is coming to. They had a 6 foot stack of Backwoods that sat for a while. I don't know man.

I'm out in LA on a trip right now and every place I've been to has had tons of this on the shelf. Should be an easy trade if you don't want to stress about finding it in Texas. I'd be surprised if this was a hard to find beer when it does release. I thought it was alright, but nothing to go crazy for. Lol

I've been hounding my rep for WEEKS. Stone's site said it'd be here 'as early as' 11/27. I believe it's FINALLY showing up in their databases but their inventories have said 0 for just as long. I'm HOPING it's released this week. It'd be nice to actually have it during the holiday's.

This is the one Stone beer some people do chase, at least for now. Believe it or not people legitimately had a hard time finding it in other parts of the country besides socal, because it was selling out so quickly. Check the main thread. It's a thread about finding Xocoveza in Austin, it makes it easier for those of us looking. Get over yourself.

Do you work at WFD? I know when i went shortly after Backwoods Bastard was out and they had a 4 case stack on display. That's not exactly a LOT. Plus they didn't have limits on it. Xoco was seemingly terribly hard to get when it first came out last year. Personally, since it's 6 packs and a Winter seasonal, I'm hoping that they'll get a nice supply and everyone's needs will be met. But yes, a thread 'is' necessary because it was supposed to be in Texas on 11/27 and it's STILL NO ON SHELVES. So yeah, I can get his annoyance by your comment.

    grumps gonna grump.

I wish the southwest forum could be infinitely more like the northwest forum where smartass comments aren't greeted by crying and yells of "troll!" I was just justifying my amusement at a thread that seems like nonsense. I hear aschwab's got this thing called twitter that has a list of every store in the damn city. They'll be posting it there. It's Stone. I don't know why you're all in a huff over some smartass comment that was then further explained and with a bunch of "maybe I'm wrong" parts. Again, the southwest forum is at least 75% grump all the time.

I'm not affiliated with anybody. I'm a software engineer. WFD is just near where I work. They didn't have 4 cases of BB when I was there. It was more like 8 cases and it sat for a week or two. HEBs all around where I live also had it just sitting out for weeks. I ended up with a 12 pack because I just kept seeing it the first week and buying it. Xoco was super easy to get last year too, in my experience. I saw it all over the place. Like I said, we'll see. Or you know, get mad because a few people in some national thread said they had bottle limits while 90% of the thread is just people telling you how much they paid for it and then some guy made some throwaway smartass comment that hurt your feelings.

If I see some, I'll buy extra to give away to people that couldn't find it.

ok, when I really want to know when something hits everywhere, I use this list that our beloved @aschwab has on twitter. And I look on BA. I understand why you created a thread like this. I just thought it was amusing for this beer. Internet hug?

Seriously, if people don't know about this list, here it is: (I personally just follow places near me because this list is too much.)
    https://twitter.com/andrewlschwab/lists/beer-releases

Here's a Spec's search for it: (turns up absolutely nothing so far :slight_frown: )
    http://www.specsonline.com/cgi-bin/showpage?keyword=xocoveza&pageid=search

I don't really use reddit ever, but this does exist:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/austinbeer

Edit: There is also beermenus.com, which I have the WFD beer alley link saved (and I do not work there, I promise) beermenus in general does not seem very helpful for me except for that store, but I don't really search it much.

DUDE. Who cares about other regional threads? If your main contribution is just to ruffle feathers, er on the rule of not being a dick. Is that so hard?
