I kind of missed out on this beer, I didn't found out about it until my brother mentioned it. Are there any beer distributors in Chicago that still have this in stock or am I totally out of luck?
I have a local bottle shop that has 4 or 5 bottles left. Since your in Chicago maybe we could trade some 3f? What do you think?
I'm sure you could find someone to sell/trade you a bottle. I have an extra I would sell at cost, but I'm in the NW burbs.
There are cases of this stuff left in MD. Looks like other people have you all set, but let me know if you need any.
Not 8 months! Come on, it hit around September. So that is only like 5 months late max! Haha! But seriously I have seen it around in other places less than a month ago. I also have a couple I would be willing to trade for some FFF!
I know it's not the same beer, but a similar style and a similar inspiration: http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...olate-caliente-russian-imperial-stout.245091/ And seeing how it's just been released, you may have some luck tracking it down around Chicago.
Nikki, having had both of the above, I would highly recommend you take Rex's advice, and grab Malevolence (the Chocolate Caliente version). While Malevolence is sweeter and tastes more strongly of cinnamon, Rex is correct that they're pretty similar in style (both being Mexican hot chocolate beers with bitter dark chocolate and pepper). I haven't seen Xocoveza in Chicago since it came out (it was an instant hit), but I think Malevolence will be next on the hit train.
