Drove past my old office yesterday and noticed that Yak and Yeti will open a new place on Kipling and 40th Ave in Wheat Ridge, by the trail. The spot used to be Iron Rail and then Alma restaurants. Kinda glad I'm not at that office anymore, I'd be spending some bank on lunch everyday!
Love the Yak & Yeti. Both the food and beers are top notch. Himalayan IPA might be the best example of a Mid-00's IPA left. They tried to rebrand the Hampton location into some kind of weird fusion dining hall concept a few months ago. They got such a negative reaction to it online that they had to play it off as "just a possible idea." That's after they changed the name of the FB page, all the logos, etc. Luckily they listened. I haven't checked in a week or two, but hopefully their buffet has re-opened.
I went to that location for my birthday a couple years ago and the food was cold, there was a hair on my clean plate, and the wait staff was awful. I'm not sure what the buzz is all about.
