Hey folks, I am going to try my hand at a Soft Parade clone in the next few weeks and I can't settle on a yeast strain. Here is my recipe so far:

    For 10 gallons

28 lbs. Briess pale ale malt
    5 lbs. toasted flaked rye

    1 oz. CTZ 60 min.
    1.5 oz cascade 15 min.
    1.5 oz. Cascade 0 min.

    Mash @ 150

Add 10lbs frozen (thawed) strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries in equal parts in secondary fermenter.

So what do you all think? Straight up Chico? Something Belgian? Change the recipe?

So I e-mailed Shorts. Here is a copy of my message and their reply:

"I am a homebrewer looking to create a clone of Soft Parade for my wife. Do you give out recipes? Even If I could get a list of ingredients and what yeast strain you use I would very much appreciate it. We love your beer especially Soft Parade and Huma Lupa Licious. Keep up the good work!"

"We really appreciate that you love Soft Parade & Huma as much as we do, but unfortunately we don't give out information on our beer recipes. A great deal of effort and experimentation have gone into each recipe and so we try to keep those private. We certainly encourage that same spirit of experimentation in home brewers and wish you all the best in your brewing!"

Needless to say, I'm a little discouraged. They could have at least told me their yeast strain.
