I just made my first batch, finished 12 hours ago. I realized I use Brewers Best "starter yeast" as my yeast. It says underneath in smaller letters "light dry malt extract." Is this actually yeast or something that assists yeast in activation. If it is just to assist yeast is there anything I can do to save the batch considering I finished 12 hours ago?

Your photo is in fact the raw ingredients to make a starter for liquid yeast. So your wort has no yeast, but this is not insurmountable. You will need to get a "yeast packet" for a supplier. I suspect you will be using dry yeast, something like US-05, but at this point take what you can find. Just re-hydrate according to the instructions and pitch. No real danger in waiting a day, but sooner is better than later. Oh yeah, welcome to homebrewing.

Thanks a ton for your help. I pitched yeast yesterday and it looked beautiful this morning.
