hey everybody. Lately i have been experimenting with "micro batches" and splitting a base beer into five one gallon fermentors so i can play with different yeast strains, dry hop additions, ect. i have had some luck in just kind of guessing the amounts of yeast to pour into each fermentor but i get inconsistencies occasionally. So i was wondering if anyone else has does this in the past and could give me some pointers on splitting the amounts of yeast up for 1 gallon batches. Anyone used scales to break the package into fifths? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Use mr malty or the other yeast calculators

It would have to be quite a low og for you to split 1 vial into fifths, it might be easier to make a 1l starter the day before or so and give it a good swirl before dividing that into fifths rather than just the single vial

    Good luck with your experiments

I would use my gram scale (0-100 grams), dry yeast, and go with what Mr malty recommends for dry yeast, one gallon size, your OG.
