With YeeHaw brewery growing and just recently opening a taproom in Pigeon Forge Tn. I thought I make a thread to get everyone's thoughts about them. I love most of their mainstays and really loved their high gravity brews Big Hoppa and Velvet Charmer. I just visited the Pigeon Forge location and found out they will be reintroducing those in can versions next week. Super excited about this. Also picked up some Beast of burden. Just excited about this brewery and hope to see them grow. Thanks for listening and cheers.
I live literally up the street from the brewery in Johnson City and have been drinking their stuff since the beginning. I think they are solid but nothing they do is really unique or Earth-shattering. To me, it seems like a very corporate operation with marketing taking priority over brewing. It's always annoyed me that they brewed in Johnson City but never mentioned that in any of their marketing and seemingly promoted their beer more heavily in the Knoxville area than JC. I've heard from a number of people that YeeHaw's end goal is to be bought out by one of the big boys and I don't doubt it. YeeHaw was started by the same family that founded Ole Smoky Moonshine and look at the behemoth that has become.
I feel your right about that. They make good beer and if they focused on more on the beer than marketing they would be a big boy. Non the less I hope they keep producing Big Hoppa. It's one of my favorites from them.
One more complaint I have with them is their website. They do not even mention the high gravity beers they have in the taprooms. I was disappointed when I got there because I wasn't planning on them even having those there. I believe it was a red IPA and Dopplebock they had in 4pks.
