Agreed. A pale ale that's "never bitter"? Go chase yourself.

Hey, come on guys! I'll try this and give it a fair shake.

    No one else is curious?

Ahhhh I see. I was wondering why I hadn't seen this anywhere here in Aus yet.

    I'll second mickr84's point - Don't bother.

I'll look for a single bottle to try out of curiosity. I won't knock it until I try it.

I agree. They may or may not have had the beer in mind back then, but that doesn't really matter. Defending the trademark is what was important. I had heard some back story on this years ago. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I believe yellowtail asked BP to cease using the name for their kolsch. I wanna say BP refused at first. Then yellowtail came back with a nice juicy monetary offer and BP accepted. Still don't know why they renamed it 'pale' and not 'kolsch' or something else. Calling it pale makes people think it is a pale ale and only causes confusion.

Ballast Point Pale is not a pale ale. it is actually intended to be a kolsch. The name causes a great deal of confusion.

I had the Sunset Lager and it was way too sweet. As far as lagers go its a 5/10 at best. 9.99 a six pack is way too much. Dont think the line will do well due to the pricing for the quality you get.

It was seriously selling for $9.99, I imagined these guys coming into the market at the $6 to $7 a 6r price.
