I'm so new at brewing, i haven't paid ANY attention to my numbers...
Which i know is very important, on when to bottle, add stuff, etc...
I have been making sure to mash at certain degrees, sparge, and pitch... and my beers taste good...
But i'd like to learn more about what all the other numbers mean..
I brewed Feb 16th... moved to secondary Feb 24th.. i know, i know, i've been learning and should leave it in primary the whole time, or wait at least two weeks to move to seconday, but i needed my 5 gal carboy..
anyways, i never took any readings til today... specific gravity is 1.08 ? which means what to me ?
and its okay to talk to me like i'm in 3rd grade, because this part, ( the most important part ) is foreign to me..

    Not very robust.

Given: 'Yeast Pitch Rate' calculator indicates the need for a STARTER.

    Enter a STARTER gravity < 1
    Program returns:
    DME Required:-0.9 oz, -25.7 g

From there...the 'Growth Rate 0.3' and 'Assumed Inoculation Rate: 133.3M cells/mL' takes over and claims: Starter meets desired pitching rate.
