A friend of mine is headed over next week for 4 days (her boyfriend is going to a conference), and she's going to grab some Iron Goat for me. What is there for her to do while he's conferring? She's active (runs, snowboards, bikes, surfs, roller derby, etc), and she's also looking for some dinner options. And what else should she an eye out for to bring back the guy who's babysitting a 120lb dog. Help a brother help a sister out?
Where is she staying? Spokane has a beautiful 60 mile trail (Centennial Trail) that goes through the city and runs along the river. I highly recommend a run or bike ride on it. It goes past a couple breweries too! Riverfront Park is always fun as well. I recommend eating at Casper Fry, Wandering Table, Manito Tap House, or The Flying Goat. Casper Fry is fantastic and it is in a cool neighborhood called the Perry District. It has some great bars and a new brewery that is killer. The Wandering Table has an awesome tapas style menu and it is in a new development that sits on the river. Spokane has a ton to offer, hope she has fun.
We're 90 miles from B.C. and 30 minutes from northern Idaho - what's yer point? If near the convention center, I might add Hill's. I've never had a bad meal there and Steve the owner/bartender is really into beer (only 10 taps but all quality), plus lots of good scotch and wine as well. The Post Street Ale House has about 20 craft taps. The food's nothing to write home about but the happy hour is pretty epic.
Well, ya know how ladies love the firemen, ya might want to double check the locks on the chastity belts.
Yeah. "Killer" may be an overstatement, but the space is extremely cool and all of the beers are good. The Triple and IPA are better than good. I always have fun there though. Good crowd.
