...if you limit yourself to 1 trip per week to the beer store so the people there don't think I have a problem.

...if u spend more time picking out your beer than drinking it

 

If your "closet" and "cellar" are synonyms...you might be a BA.
If your glass is half-full when it is holding 2 oz....you might be a BA.
If your favorite books and beer labels are comprised of cartoon characters...you might be a BA.

 

Your beer guy sends you a personal text whenever a special release comes in, and then when he offers you more than the per-customer limit, you decline, in order to ensure that more people get to try it.

 

When almost all of your gifts from friends and family are beer related.

 

If you say things like "this vertical is drinking insanely well after cellaring for 2 years"

 

when your wife says... "honey, can we change the subject?"

...You have to remind yourself that you can't wear brewery Tshirts when working in your classroom before the school year starts cuz you might be seen by students, or parents, or uptight colleagues.

...when travelling, your wife (who was terrible with maps and directions in her prior life) can now handle a map & a Celebrator, or Northwest Brewing News, and make recommendations for course corrections to hit an extra brewery or two on travels...GOD I LOVE HER.

 

You know you're a BA when you hear your mother, who is approaching 80, explaining that there is "really a lot of interesting things happening in brewing, like Bourbon Barrel Aging."

I've been tempted on a number of times to chime in and help out another costumer at a monopoly store, the service provided by the staff can be less than helpful alot of times (sometimes even downright rude to customers who's only fault was asking simple questions). But alas, as Swedes it's in our nature to keep to ourselves out in public so I stay out of it .

 

You might be a BA if you are willing to cross international borders to stock your cellar. (sure Canada/US barely counts...but it counts)

 

Actually, I look in the mirror and see a man with priorities who doesn't act like an apostle of hops.

 

You still manage to drag friends to warehouse taprooms of brands they've never heard of. But they've stopped wondering if you're taking them there to kill them.
