Young Beer Geeks in Philly/Burbs

Just throwing it out there, but I'm from Australia and will be in Philly around the 20th if any BA's wish to extend the hand of international beer friendship. Obviously I won't have any beers on me, but I'm more then happy to meet at good beer pubs and have a few rounds and talk beer/sports/movies/music/literature (delete as appropriate).

EDIT: I am a 196 in dog years. I hope that isn't too old.

I'll be on a plane to San Francisco (jelly?) during the share, but it does look like fun. I would probably go if in town.

 

Heads up on the bottle share: sounds like the chef had a heart attack yesterday and 943 is closed until further notice.

i definitely would have gone to this if i was home, but i'll be on a plane too. i live pretty close to that restaurant...hopefully this one's a success and there will be another one at another location in the city.

 

We had a great response to the bottle share so expect to see more in the future. As of yesterday, we were pretty close to hitting out cap of 50. These are great events as it really takes little planning for the organizers, but it clearly filled a niche that Philly was looking for. Mat and I are very excited for Sunday. And yes, we are in good shape with the venue. It's very unfortunate about the chef, but he has others to fill in. We are going to probably stick to having these at BYOBs so if anyone has suggestions for Philly BYOBs that may be receptive to this, please let me know. See you on Sunday.
