I was at the high table with 3 other guys about 6 feet from where the line started. The first guy in my group got there at 4:25 and was #12, I got there at 4:50 or so and was #36, another person got there at 5:05 or something and was #51, the fourth guy got there at 6:30 and just had some of mine. Overall it went well, except if you didn't get in line at first, some people waited forever as Cheeky Monk literally charged each beer at the bar, so it took awhile to run everyone's drink. It worked because it was a small keg and only 65 or so people. But I much prefer FRTH where the wait staff delivers to tables with tickets and they do it cash only or open tab only, they don't close tabs until everyone is served.

None-the-less I'm always happy when I get to try Pliny the Younger, not the same level of aroma or sweetness that I remember from last year, but that's how it typically goes doesn't it? lol. All-in-all we have it pretty darn good here as we don't have to fight the lines and such in CA, and we get (relatively) a good amt. of Younger to go around, most places never see.

Oh and had Oude Jacobins and Jacobins Rouge, two incredible beers on tap, so there's that.

Hearing these stories, I gotta say that it sounds like Falling Rock does it right. I found FR to be pretty mellow and well organized. And I went for the first one as well as the second.

We were at the very, very back - the last booth over against the wall. Our waitress originally took a credit card and said we could apply that to the Pliny and that she'd bring it, but I think once a few people lined up I think their plan went out the window. Either way - it could've been a mess, but it didn't end up becoming one. In general, everyone seemed pretty accommodating, which kept it from being a crazy scene. One guy ended up showing up late and paid for someone's Pliny as long as they agreed to split it. Seemed like a pretty good idea and someone took him up on it.

This year's batch was decidedly better than last. More aroma, flavor and feel. Very nice
