Not even sure if it's coming out this way this year, but has it happen yet, or any news of when and where?

Last few years, it's been at Monks, Grey Lodge and Capones at one point or another, but nothing at this point. Monks email came out on 2/23/11, so one year ago today.

I have a feeling the kegs haven't made their way to the bars yet. People probably don't want to advertise an event until they have it in hand. I'm sure most of the places that had it last year will have it again this year and some of them will be well publicized.

I guess we are all just impatient. I went though my info for last year, and the first I had heard about it at this point was today. Then a few other bits of info had rolled out during the next week and a half.

I don't think Capone's tapped their keg until March last year.

i believe kegs will start arriving next week in the philly area. keep your eyes peeled, then. i think everyone is holding off posting events till kegs are in hand, like mentioned above.

I was going to ask you about this on Saturday. Never had the itch for it quite like I do this year.

If it happens the way it has in the past, we should be good. But like you said, getting that "itch"

you mean this shit show on May 30th...

Pliny the Younger: Are You Worthy?
It's time to come clean; we have a keg of Russian River Pliny the Younger. But we've been trying to figure out how to distribute the 60 portions fairly, and without resulting in fisticuffs, name-calling and general misery. After all, this brew is perhaps uniquely revered.

So we decided to have a little fun. If you want some Pliny, email us at [email protected] and tell us why you deserve it over your beer-loving compatriots. Essay, poem, haiku, limerick, song, video, whatever - just keep written entries to 500 words or less, and submit your creative masterpiece by Sunday, May 15.

Our judges' Top 30 entries will get to purchase two 10oz glasses of Pliny the Younger for $8 each - one for the winner and one for his or her lucky guest. Tapping will take place on Monday, May 30 at 5pm at Tria Rittenhouse. And what we deem the finest entry of all will win a special Russian River-related prize.

haha yes. i knew it was insanely late.
    shame on them.
didn't they end up scrapping all that and just selling it first come first serve?

not sure if they scrapped the contest, but i know they moved up the tapping by a few weeks
