I hate the word resolution but I am going to make one promise to myself on this New Year's Day:

That's to drink more beer out of my basement than I put into it. It seems easy enough, on the surface, and I always tell myself that I'm gonna do it, but I gotta get serious about this. It's getting a little out of control. It's definitely a first-world problem (that's what the kids on the street say, right?) but I have more downstairs than ever before. And...this doesn't even include what I have upstairs.

Anybody else have a 2016 beer goal?

^ I'll second that. And also continue to hone my home-brewing skills.

Actually, my goal of the reverse of yours lol. I pretty much drained my cellar and was about at 5 bottles. Was good to drink some brews i'd forgotten about but it's time to slowly fill it up again :grinning:

To get to Treehouse - Tired Hands and Hill Farmstead brewery's.
To get my hands on as much Grimm as I possibly can.
To go back to VT for Heady/Fiddlehead - HF etc.
To continue supporting NJ brewery's such as Kane, Carton, Magnify, Crickethill, Rinn Duin etc.
To continue to enjoy the entire craft beer experience.

Continue to learn about beer, particularly stouts which I tend to prefer
Visit some brewery taprooms, and attend every beerfest in town
Continue to try the seasonal "hits" (BCBS variants, Abyss, Xocoveza, Utopias)
Find that one excellent Pumpkin beer, if it exists

To get back to New England at least twice to see family / friends and stock back up on arguably the best IPA's on the planet (you guys know the list...). Heck, my Mom actually bought the better 1/2 and I a super efficient 120 quart cooler to serve as the transport vessel from NC to Mass and back. The thing shows up yesterday under an anonymous sender name and, when we ran out of options in terms of friends and family who might have sent it, I called her up and asked... what might you know about this cooler that just showed up? Response... I am tired of seeing you two pissing away your money on ice to be used in old / inefficient coolers to keep your beer cold. Use the new cooler, save on the ice expense and piss your money away buying more beer. God luv her!

Drink what I know is good. Stop chasing new releases like it's my part time job. There's more to life than beer.

My goal is to stop buying so many bombers and 750's and reteach myself how great the "basic" beers are that are in 6 packs and 4 packs. I seem to be stuck in this rut that to get the best beer is has to come in a large format (even tho I have been let down many times by big, expensive bottles). And in doing this I want to enjoy my kegerator more (got a fresh keg of Hop Hunter from SN coming next week). Oh, and stop adding shelves to my cellaring area. I have way too much already, as you can see.

Support my local breweries more and do some more traveling to try beers from other states I wouldn't have access too. Speaking of which, y'all need to head to Morgantown, West Virginia to try Morgantown Brewing, Big Timber, Greenbrier Valley and others; so much awesome beer!

Same as always, drink less and drink better. Both are getting harder to do!

get out of my rut and try some really different beers. No whales, only barracudas, in 2016.

My big goal is to find a way to finally make it to Europe and and try my favorites fresh. More easily achieved goal is to reduce my cellar beers.

    Make it to Massachusetts
Cross a bunch of bucket list beers off the list
Buy smarter and cease the cellar growing problem
Keep my beer hook up happy
Not let beer drinking/chasing interfere as much with putting hours in at work
Pray each day that Pipeworks finally opens its taproom - seriously though PW has the ability to become world class ipa institution like those in the NE but not pouring beer in a taproom/growler filling station is really holding it back
