So what temp did you try sofie at? I fiind that right out of the fridge it is pretty ho hum. Serve her up at cellar temps and let her breath a bit and the beer really opens up and blossoms.

My highest (I liked better than most):

Adam and Eve Ale from Great Sex Brewing: 3.15 (+51.4%)
Very Berry Raspberry from Solvang Brewing: 2.23 (+37.7%)
Samuel Adams Triple Bock: 3.98 (+37.2%)

    My lowest:

Chocarrubica from Grado Plato: 1 (-70.1%)
Valhalla IPA from Solvang Brewing: 1.38 (-59.2%)
Temptation by Russian River: 2 (-55.3%)

Please note that my top two "high" deviations were not very high ratings to start with. My bottom three were (in order) infected, incompetent and just freaking awful.

Sam Adams Imperial Stout - +16.6% The one beer in that series that really works for me
Corona Extra - +15.4% My "hot day at the beach" brew of choice
Weihenstephaner Vitus - + 12.2% I would re-review this higher now. It's the most underrated beer on this entire website.

Lone Star Light - -21.1% Seriously, how the fuck does anyone actually like this stuff?
Sam Adams Imperial White - -30.7% syrupy mess
Sierra Nevada Celebration - -35.7% Not because it's a terrible beer -- it isn't -- but because it has nothing to do with what I consider a holiday/winter brew. It's just another IPA.

Got it at a restaurant and they served it like a champagne bottle on ice. Definitely noticed it really improved as it warmed. Probably should have let it warm more and then it would have likely gotten a higher rating.

Wow, really? Did you rate it as a ESB? That's mighty harsh for a fantastic brew and one that really sparked my fascination for craft beer and still a staple for me every fall.

Yeah, I should revisit it. I'm not sure if I had a bad bottle but I almost drain poured it. I get the style, just had flavors that didn't seem right.

Definitely give it another shot, it's not that offensive of a brew that it would ever warrant a really terrible rating if it was a good bottle.

Atwater Vanilla Java Porter 3.93 (+18.4) - This beer is "good". I like it. Nothing spectacular- I guess the greater BA community hates it. Its pretty good on-tap. The bottled version probably sucks.
    Brooklyn Local 1 4.88 (+18.2)
De Proef Signature Les Deux Brasseurs Ale (w/Jason Perkins) - De Proefbrouwerij (bvba Andelot) 4.9 (+18.1)

With 2 and 3 - I like the general saison/Belgian pale ale/ wild ale stuff A LOT MORE than most BAs- these are still some of the best beers I have ever had.

    Lowest

    1. Tsingtao - 2.15 (-22.1%) I guess I hate this beer a little more than everyone else. Its a skunked import in a green bottle that's not even good

    2. Bells Two Hearted- 3.33 (-22.1%) This is an above average beer for me- but I don't get all the hype. Nothing special about it.

    3. Mount Desert Island Ginger- 2.6 (-21.7%)

    1. Slumbrew (Somerville Brewing) Sittin' On Hop Of The World (4.43) +20.1%
I cannot believe this is rated so low. I love this beer, I feel so fortunate to have gotten this while doing my brewery tour through New England. The peach aroma and flavor in this is outstanding. I wish I could have gotten more of it, seeing as it was only brewed once. And to think I nearly put this back on the shelf before leaving Tully's.
    2. Coronado Blue Bridge Coffee Stout (4.24) +16.5%
Shocked at this one too, tons of rich coffee flavors in this brew, nice notes of smoke and vanilla, nice complexity.
    3. Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA (4.08) +15.9
This one is solid, I understand why people dont like it, but its a nice refreshing White IPA, lots of apricot in it. Not my favorite white IPA, but something I could easily decide on if no other really solid choices.

    Lowest (excluding adjuncts):

    1. Devil's Backbone Ichabod Crandall (2.21) -32.8%
Total garbage, this is sugar water with some alcohol and pumpkin flavor, drain-poured this within a few sips.
    2. Virgin Island (St. John's) Tropical Mango Pale Ale (2) -32.4%
This is like fruit cocktail beer, super atificial.
    3. Elysian Oddland Peppercorn Saison (2.46) -31.5%
It should come to no one's surprise I dont like this beer, a total overload of an extremely potent spice.
