These kind of thread are like a wet dream for someone like me who has a ridiculously overdetailed spreadsheet for my cellar and reviews. I already have the calculations..

Beers currently in my cellar: 9.3%
Beers consumed from cellar in last two years: 8.7%
Beers consumed in bars/restaurants in last two years: 8.7%

I guess I lean towards the big boys.

Excluding the beers that I've reviewed that are of unknown ABV, my median (since it would take hours to calculate a mean) is 6.5%. Makes sense, I like big beers and sessionable beers, and it looks like I review them fairly equally.

My average ABV is about 0.06%. The average ABV of the beer I drink? I dunno.

I would guess 8% or a little higher. Drinking a lot of ipa's and dioa's at 6-10% and then a lot of RiS, Barleywines BA beers, etc

Math and beer are not complimentary but...

I'm curious. I've reviewed 195 beers online since October 2010. I really only very rarely go below 7% (prefering 8% and higher)... Excel makes life easy, so I'm gonna check it...

9.97% abv average! Living the dream! Beer is for winning!

All of you that says this takes forever, do you know you can do this in excel?

Highlight the entire bunch of reviews, all columns and all rows, then right click and choose Copy. Open excel and choose Paste Special (unicode text) in the first cell. This wil paste everything keeping all columns together. The only problem is BA only shows 50 reviews at a time, so you have copy and paste special on each page of reviews. So your second page of reviews will be pasted in row 51.

Once that is completely done, go to the cell underneath the abv column, and type =average(highlight all the abv cells in the column)

Simply because of having about 800 reviews, and only being able to copy 50 at a time, it takes about ten minutes.

I know I could have done this myself but I'd rather have it done for me so I could send out a beer.

there was a web site out there that would import your reviews for you...it sadly was in the old forums which you might be able to google. It think it sent them to a google spreadsheet?

Thanks Biill! If anyone wants it, I have a spreadsheet the pulls in your review info and cleans it up. It also has some pivot tables for reviewing ratings by brewery, style etc. No beer necessary but if you do, the first one goes to Bill.
