For normal craft purchases I go to martignettis in brighton. They give back bottle deposits, occasionally have tastings, I like to browse the liquor, and there beer selection is quite good albeit not always fresh. I stick mostly to seasonal releases.

For the good stuff I go to Redstone liquors in Stoneham when I have a chance. I used to work nearby and go all the time, its a little more challenging to get there now unfortunately.

With the help of a few great local BA'ers I've found a few new places that have great selections. My go to place for everyday stuff is consistent but I don't think they are rotating their inventory enough....

Hops and Habanas in Madison (3 miles from home) has everything that's available in central Mississippi. And "everybody knows your name," as they say on Cheers. You can buy singles, warm or cold, get growler fills no one else has and great beer advice. Humidor Cigars (2 miles away) is new but aggressive; Angela knows beer and loves to talk about it. Whole Foods and the smaller McDade's across the road (10 miles away) offer great growler fills in 32 and 64 ounce sizes. If I want beers you can't get in Mississippi, it's Louisiana's north shore (2.5 hours away) or Birmingham (3.5 hours away):slight_frown:.

Mainly four stores and it totally depends on where we go grocery shopping and running errands. Essentially, I have a good shop to visit covering all of the compass directions.

But we'll stop just about anywhere. Never know what you can find.

So you're too smart to work at a beer store, huh? Bravo.
I just hope that you have some sort of relevant experience in service or they might not hire you whether they are intimidated by your mental prowess or not.

Bed-Stuy Beer works is the closest to me and has most growlers for $10-$13 which is pretty cheap for NYC. And they get all the new bottle releases usually.

Brouwerij Lane is near where I work and has a decent bottle selection, but lots of good stuff on tap.

Breukelen Bier Merchants has a good bottle selection, but I usually only go there if I'm in the area. Same goes for Good Beer.

The local bodega across from the Marcy Projects that I go to has a decent selection of 6 packs such as Ithaca, Dogfish, Lagunitas, and Capt Lawerence.

Thankfully NYC has tons of good bottles shops - so you're never too far from one.

3 Local-ish shops in NW WI. Each one is a half hour away from me in a different direction. Also the occasional trip to the Twin Cities or Duluth for MN/out of distro beers.

just 1 regularly. though I am starting to think I am getting a more limited selection on sixers, its still the best in town (TW)

though when we have to go to the doctor I sometimes shop this other 1 in riverside. parking sucks there so its limited to certain hours. plus this town is way to big and spread out to waste gas to go much further.

kind of why I have not hit 2 micros way south of me yet. :grinning:

I have one place very close by for 12-packs, quick stops, and occasional singles. I have Craft Beer Cellar about 10 minutes away for mix-sixes and fresh stuff.

Sorry - can't answer. I have several and they may know my BA name. I don't want to make them jealous of each other although I have played one against another in the past.

    I primarily go to 4:

    1. Has good selection and drive-thru, but most expensive
    2. Has small but solid selection, cheapest prices, ends up being more or less on the way to a lot of places
    3. Big store with huge selection and really good deals, slight detour on my way home from work
    4. Usually go when I'm looking for something I know not to be at the other three; usually let down by large, but mostly unchanging selection.

I need to stop going to #4 but I keep on thinking they'll turn it around.

The one in Madison I go to the most has 3 different locations so usually the one I'm closest to. I do like to branch out and try different palces just to for variety.

I have 2 local bottle shops I frequent, 2 grocery stores and one big box - Binnys. Nice selection all the way around. I make sure to shop at the locals for another reason besides great selection and knowing the people that work there. I don't want them to go the way of the independent record store ... older BA's will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I personally have 2 frequent bottle shops. One is close to my work with great selection of bombers, singles, and six packs and also has great knowledgeable employees. The other is close to my house and has a decent selection, but works well when I just need to pick something up real quick. There are definitely other places I go around town depending where I can get a certain beer, but those main two I would say I go to about 95% of the time.
