Back before I knew anything about whalz, I walked into Bottle Barn and saw the Bruery Partridge in a Pear Tree and Two Turtle Doves sitting on the shelf. I thought the labels were cool but I didn't pick them up. Oh well.

Biggest miss for me was Dissident in an Ashland Oregon health food store... Once I found out what it was, I kicked myself... Hard!

I was in Anchorage in August....didn't realize Midnight Sun's reputation on the west coast until I got back. Luckily I was able to bring a few bottles back, but never made it to the brewery.....

Her name was Tempest and she was a stripper at the Admiral Theatre in Chicago. She offered to let me drink Old Style off her feet as it cascaded down her chocolate silk legs. Why did it have to be Old Style?!

Back in 2008, I moved back to the midwest (Iowa) from Las Vegas. I was taking the "scenic" route home and stopped at a Bevmo along I-15. At this Bevmo, they had a display of beer several cases high that I had never heard of and it had a cool name and label. I walked by it and didn't want to pay the $8.99 they were asking, especially for a beer that I wasn't familiar with.

Hindsight is 20/20. My beer knowledge has grown significantly since then, too.

Has anyone ever heard of "Angel's Share"??

I used to go to dark lord day before the golden ticket snafu... always saw the line and thought I will never wait in a line for 4 hours for beer. Now realizing people where walking t o their cars with half cases of gold. I would have had at least a 6 year vertical of it!

About 6 years ago there was a Port Brewing bottle that stayed on shelves so long that they gathered dust. Many places cut prices in half to try to sell them. I actually heard one story that they couldn't give them away since the people that had tried this new beer just didn't like it. Many stores finally took some of the bottles off the shelves and just dumped them or tried to just sell them for a buck or two.

I saw bottles six and eight rows deep on some shelves but was not interested in a beer that was not moving, especially when the "beer guy" told me that no one was buying it and I'd probably do better with something else.

Today, Port Brewing's Le Woody Brune fetches a bit more than a dollar or two, if you can find it.

I visited Cantillon earlier this year on a trip with school and did not buy any bottles because I wasn't crazy about lambics at the time. Epic fail.

For a bottle or a pack (not that I think this comes in any form of packs, but I just want to know how much pain to share)
