I didn't mean for this to be arguing what a whale is/isn't. I'm sorry it sounded that way-my mistake. KBS and Hopslam are both a lot harder to get ahold of than Columbus brews and Head Hunter. I guess I got in a hurry when I wrote that post this AM. I should have edited and left it at "I agree with the previous posts for KBS and Hopslam being overrated."

There are 10+ posts previously in the thread (I only counted paged 7-10) that use phrases like "not a whale" and, at the very least, include someone's subjective definition of a whale. FWIW I'm sure than a lot of BAs or people in the trading community would be hard pressed to consider any of the beers I listed above as a "whale."

I'd have to say Zombie Dust. While it's very good, in the style, I'd take HF Edward or Trillium Fort Point over ZD. As many others have said, Hopslam makes the list as well. Good beer, but does not live up to the hype or price tag.

Kate the (not so) Great was way overhyped. I'd take a Stone IRS over KTG any day!

Waited 3 months or so to try Bikini Blonde Lager from Maui.
Tasted like kitty litter! I gave it a 3 because it had a really cool can.
Hawaii should stick with tourism, not lagers!

Firestone Parabola. Just think there are much better beers in this style.
