Quarters and Asshole obviously, but we also played a game called Pitchers. 4 man teams, play like quarters bouncing a quarter into a scotch glass, sink the quarter the other team drinks the whole pitcher, once the pitcher leaves your lips you pass to the next team mate, if the pitcher is not consumed the team has to do it again until a full pitcher is consumed.

    I got introduced to Baseball.

It is a mix of beer pong and flip cup.

    4-8 players

    Offense (beer pong)
The beer pong segment is the cups are lined up representing first cup as a single, second cup = double, third cup = triple, and 4th = home run. The hitting team makes a cup that cup gets drank plus all lesser cups. Ex. a person makes triple cup, so double and single ahs to be drunk. Each cup gets filled with more beer with home run cup having most in it.

Once a person makes a cup they go on base. (read flip cup base running portion).

If a person misses it is a strike. 3 strikes. 3 outs per inning. If a cup hits a cup and is caught be the defending team that is an out.

    Base Running (flip cup)
Three cups are lined up to represent first base, second base, third base. Ex. person hits a single, they go to cup 1 and they enact flip cup and beat the defender in flip cup, they successfully stole second. Enacting the flip cup game represents stealing a base. If the opposing (defense team) beats you, you are out.

    You cant steal home.

    Thats the game

I have been known to partake in the odd drinking game every now and then. Some might even go as far as to say I enjoy a drinking game, too! Of course, such games are only ever played with macro beers, otherwise its just a waste of good stuff.

Uni was probably my first real exposure to 'proper' drinking games - as it seems to have been for a lot of posters in this thread - and we played a ton of different games depending on the mood.
    The classics consisted of:
    • I Have Never - whereby someone would state 'I have never...' and complete the sentence with something they have never done. Anyone in the group who had committed such an action then had to drink as a forfeit. This was often used as an ice-breaker and was a good way to get to know our new friends!
    • Ring of Fire/Kings - described above
    • Centurion/Power hour - 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes, with forfeits (usually the removal of clothing) for any missed shot.
    • One Frog - a game based on the sentence One Frog Jumped In The Bog, Plop, Splash. Going around the table each person says one word from the sentence in order. When the sentence is completed it builds to 'Two Two Frogs Frogs' 'Three Three Three Frogs Frogs Frogs' etc. until someone makes a mistake.
    • 21s - a number game. Again seated around a table, the game starts with one person stating the direction the game will travel in (left or right) then says either one, two or three numbers starting with 1. One number by itself (ie 1) moves the game to the next person in the stated direction of play. Two consecutive numbers (ie 2,3) reverses the direction of play, and three consecutive numbers (ie 4,5,6) skips a person but continues in the same direction. The game continues until someone makes a mistake or the numbers reach 21. The person to say the number 21 loses, has to finish their drink then make a new rule (ie substitute the number 5 for the word spit). Probably not the best explanation, but the game is simpler than it sounds. To make it more complicated we would often play cricket rules, whereby 4, 6 and their multiples are replaced by the cricket umpires hand gestures.
    • Word Association (and Disassociation) - pretty self explanatory really. Go round the table either associating (or not) with the word that came before.
We also played a number of film and video game related drinking games too. Drinking FIFA was fun and resulted in some of the worst play ever (drinks basically any time the ball went out of play). Drinking Team America (drink any time someone swears or there is a racial/ethnic stereotype of any description) was messy in the extreme. We tried to drink along with the movie Withnail and I once too. It was going well (relatively) until the lighter fluid came into play. Not one to be repeated.

I also play a lot of rugby, and that brings its own drinking games too.
    • Golf Ball - much like 'Save the Queen' except we are in Scotland and aren't huge fans of the monarchy! We use a golf ball instead. If it lands in your pint, you finish your drink. You are also less likely to swallow a golf ball than a coin!!!!
    • The Peg - usually someone will bring a clothes-peg to our post-match and other functions. Essentially, the peg will be attached to someone's clothes and if they don't find it within a count of 5, they must finish their drink.
    • Baggo - most often played on the Sunday of our sevens tournament. Remove the bag from a box of wine, all players stand in a big circle with their dominant hand behind their back. Players then throw and catch the bag with their weak hand. Anyone who drops the bag or catches with the wrong (strong) hand, they drink.
    • Boat Races - fairly common and i imagine well known. Two teams of equal number standing Indian-file beside each other, each player with two pints (one of lager, one of heavy). The front player on each team then downs one of their pints and puts the empty glass upside down on their head. Once this is done, the next player (behind him) can start their first pint. Once all players in the team have chinned their first pint, they can start to work their way forwards again, placing the empty pint on the player in front's head so they know when to start. The winner is the first team to finish all their pints.
    • International Rules - we tend to usually use our own version of the international drinking rules. We drink by the clock, so if the minute hand is on the right (:01-:29) we drink with the right and on the left (:31-:59) the opposite. If the minute hand is on the hour or half past, both hands are used. Each person's pint must be no further than the distance from the end of their thumb to their knuckle, from the edge of the table. If a pint is greater than this distance from the edge of the table, it may be 'challenged' and a two-finger forfeit must be taken.
    • Wizard Sticks - more a game for private parties than post-match, but we've been known to play it from time to time.
One game I have played but cant remember the rules of was called Arrogance, it involved flipping a coin and pouring beer into a second glass, but i don't know why. Does anyone have any knowledge of this game?

This turned into a bit of an essay, sorry!

I honestly have never played any drinking games except for beer pong only 2 or 3 times, which I sucked at and didn't particularly enjoy.

Probably a side effect of not getting into beer until I was 35.

Drink OK is one of my favorites
    -Person one: "Hey _______, drink."
    -Person two: "Ok."

I also like having some beers while playing polish horseshoes, but that's more of an activity that you can happen to have beers while doing than an actual drinking game

Sink the bismark! Best with liquor. Mixing beers would get even nastier.

My college roommate and I stole a table from a lobby of our dorm and drew a game board on it. There were spaces that told you to go back a space, draw a card, etc. It also included "Quarters", "Ace, Two, Three", "I never...", and "Truth or Dare". We never once finished a game with our friends, but everyone always won...a hangover, that is.

one thing i like here is all the different names for the same game, depending on region. haha.

we used to play caps all the time..two teams of two, you each taek turn trying to throw a bottle cap into the oppenents cup. you're sitting on the floor about 10 feet apart or so. if i land one in the cup, the other team gets a shot to counter. if they miss, it's a point for me and they drink their beer(filled in the cup). if they make it, they still drink but it's not a point. you play to 11. you'll go through a case of beer in a game. just don't swallow any caps!

Drinking games are for people who aren't very good at getting drunk. I happen to be excellent at it, so I do not require a game.

So.... this thread got me wanting to play minefield again. So I did.... and I'm just as bad as I remember and got wasted and had lots of fun.

I taught my friends all the strategies like spinning in someone else's area so they won't want to drop their mine, or tricking them with a fake out so they stop drinking and they mess themselves up. So my friends just did all that stuff to me and destroyed me.

    fun game.

It was just 3 of us and we killed 20 bottles and cans in I don't remember but not that long.

    I feel like a lot of people on this site will appreciate this one;

It's called "Thunder*ucked", which is of course a play on the song Thunderstruck by AC/DC. Rules outlined below:

A drinking game wheres the song thunderstruck by AC/DC is played. The people playing are arranged in a circle. Every time "thunder" is said in the song the person has to chug their beer until the song says "thunder" again. Then the next person has to drink. This is repeated until the song is over.

If you are a fan of the song, you already know a few of people will wind up topping off a couple few brews throughout the course of the game.
