Your favorite Maple Stouts

My favorite of the few I've tried would be good morning. But if you are looking for ones that would be more reasonable to trade for I would recommend imperial smells like bean spirit from mikerphone.

 

I definitely preferred imperial but both were very enjoyable

 

If it counts, ManBearPig takes the cake. What an amazing beer! I've never experienced a nose so complex. You almost don't want to drink it. I could have been just as content sitting in a corner with my nose stuck in the glass.

 

Bourbon barrel black maple from Jackie o's was really good.

 

Nothing tops the maple from small town Iowa for me but others that deserve mention (though some I'll list are not stouts)

I admittedly haven't had that many, but far and away my favorite is CBS. It's good enough that it's one of only two coffee stouts I actively love (the other being Vainglorious by Goose Island).

Runner up would probably be Prop '15.

 

A toast to Vainglorious, damn was that beer incredible! Bring it back GI!

 

Seriously. I've been waiting for them to bottle it ever since I tasted it. I honestly have no idea why they haven't.

 

Only been served at 2 events as far as I know. There has to be more kegs of it hidden away at clybourn!

 

Seeing you are in Korea so setting a trade up might not be the easiest

I have yet to find anything with he maple dominance I want. I don't remember Jacki Os Black Maple well enough (early on in what ended being a 23 bomber share)

 

I've only had jackie os bbbm but it was awesome and I'm now eager to try some others.

 

Wide Awake from Funky Buddha is the best by far!

 

Mikerphone Imperial Bean Spirit comes to mind immediately. Prop 15 also great. Just got both Wide Awake and MBCP to open soon, so I can't wait to compare.

 

Funky Buddha's Maple Bacon Coffee Porter is one of the best

 

My favorite so far is See The Stars from Creature Comforts but its not an easy one to get at this point unfortunately. Hopefully they will be doing it again this year with more volume.

Yes. I know that this forum is geared toward stouts, but I have to give a "shout out" to VOODOO DOUGHNUT MAPLE BACON ALE by Rogue, even if it is retired. Amazing smell of maple and bacon, and VERY heavy tasting, to me at least. I wanted to pour it on my pancakes!
