I love Saint Somewhere, but here in NY we can't find anything newer then 2008, but it ages amazingly

If you are ever interested in getting into homebrewing, a saison is fun way to start. They are light yet with plenty of yeasty, citrus flavors. I recently made my first one and used Danstar Belle Saison dry yeast, it is easy to use, fast fermenting, and does well even at higher temperatures.

Dupont seems to have taken the poll, here, which is great. It has some good neighbors -- I saw Pipaix mentioned here. I'd add Silly, 1900, Regal and especially the stuff from de Blaugies -- d'Epeautre and La Moneuse. Interesting to see St. Feuillen mentioned -- its saison has appeared just in the last few years, but it's a worthy entry, showing that the Belgians can expand the category, too.

Dupont is my favorite as well. Hennepin is overrated, IMO.

I don't hear enough about Upright Seven, but it is great. Also Saison Brett, Seizoen Bretta, and Fantome. I really like the dry hopped Dupont this year as well.

I have been a saison fan since I tried Ommegang Hennepin 12 years ago. It is still number one with me and there are no others that I know of that earn honorable mention. I would like to try funkwerks as I don't believe I can get it in my state (New York). I too am glad of the saison explosion I am seeing.

I have tried Dupont and have not been impressed. I have heard that getting Dupont fresh is key and maybe I have gotten older bottles. For me Hennepin is the benchmark for saisons. This may be due to it's freshness.

Just for my taste Hennepin is a little too hoppy for a Saison. I'm not a big hop guy, though.
