Timely thread. I've just recently gotten into Belgians and had my first tripel just yesterday - La Fin Du Monde. So good and surprisingly refreshing for such a strong beer. I'm curious to see what everyone has to say.

Personally, I think Merry Monks is quite good. Might be the best year round beer Weyerbacher makes.

Westmalle. I'm not a big Trippel guy, but I loved Westmalle.

Brooklyn Local 1, can't leave that out of the conversation. Other favorites would be St. Bernardus and La Fin du Monde, not very original I know...

Westmalle is really the perfect tripel for me. Karmeliet, Bernardus are great classic examples. Haven't had too many stellar American versions, but Allagash would definitely be up there. Tradewinds from the Bruery is quite nice with a real different feel while still retaining the familiar tripel style. Just tried De La Senne's Jambe de Bois yesterday and was quite impressed.

    No particular order...

    Tripel Karmeliet
    Long Strange Tripel (Boulevard)
    Chimay White
    La Fin Du Monde

Still need to crack open a Tide and It's Takers that I have sitting in my cellar.

I haven't had many. Curieux is almost like "cheating" to have it on the list. Barrel aged goodness...

    Mine goes:
    La Fin du Monde
    Westmalle
    Chimay

I still need to try Karmeliet and St. Bernardus.

    Definitely Gulden Draak.

How has this not been mentioned yet? If you're into darker Belgian beers and you love Dubbels and Quadrupels but aren't big on the lighter Tripels, you should give Gulden Draak a go. Tasty stuff.
