I don't know about everyone else, but I can feel winter coming. It will be here before you know it.

What's your favorite beer to curl up with on a freezing cold winter day? Something that warms you up and makes you forget about the freezing temperatures.

Usually I drink bourbon when trying to warm up, but my go to beer would probably be either ten fidy or palo santo.

I have a clone 10 fidy in secondary for the cold winter nights in NW Wisconsin. Generally, I enjoy a good Wee Heavy ale or a big stout/porter. I still enjoy a good IPA (Surly Furious) depending on my evening meal.

A good barrel aged stout like Parabola, KBS,BA Old Rasputin, BA Narwhal and regular Narwhal are very enjoyable but our winters in So Cal are not too cold.

Backwoods Bastard always goes down pretty smoothly on a cold winters day.

Arctic devil is a favorite of mine. Ten Fidy is another staple winter beer for me.

Cold winter days are few and far between in Central Texas, so I have to choose carefully: Prairie Bomb or The Abyss...

Second to none for me was West 6th and Country Boy's last collaboration (Country Western volume 3). Too bad I drank all mine, oops.

I guess after that it'd be Founders Curmudgeon. That one always warms me up.

My newest favorite in this area would definitely Hibernation Ale from Great Divide. More than enough alcohol to take your mind of the weather with a nice toasty taste.

    Honorable mentions:
    Founder's Breakfast Stout
    Old Rasputin
    Dragon's Milk

We rarely get below freezing for an extended amount of time, so I drink whatever I'm in the mood for. That said, Winter Warmers are amongst my favorites, so I look forward to having them. After November 1. I hate seasonal creep.

Somebody already pointed out that winters in California range from mild at best to non-existent, but I have a few favorites that I keep on hand for when it finally does get cold outside. I love Deschutes Jubelale and Stone Double Bastard. Also, Avery Old Jubilation is underrated, IMHO.
