Cheers to all of you that can remember that. Pretty sure mine was a 40 oz of Milwaukee's best. Told a homeless dude we'd buy him one. It was all down hill from there.

Only counting styles I've actually had more than just one or two of...

    Witbier: Blue Moon
    AAL: Pacifico
    Pilsner: Bohemia
    Stout/Porter: Guinness Draught
    Oktoberfest: Samuel Adams
    Pale Ale: Sierra Nevada
    IPA: New Belgium Ranger

And the first beer I ever had was a Beck's Dark from my dad's fridge years ago. Didn't like it much at the time, but I had one again toward the end of last year and it was actually decent -- nowhere near as bad as I remembered from the first time. Guess my taste buds were just not used to "beery" flavors yet the first time around. XD

    First Lager: Olympia (thanks grandpa!)
    First stout: Guinness Extra Stout
    First ESB: Fuller's ESB
First porter: Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter
    First pale ale: Bass

It's easy to remember these, even though it was a long time ago, because there were a lot fewer options/styles back then, and most of the best of them were English or German imports.

Most of my firsts were in England, too long ago to remember. But last night I had my first Scottish Gruit/Ancient Ale, DFH Kvasir. Ugly looking beer, like a flooded fast flowing stream, but pretty tasty.
