My bet is it was Old Style, I was 5 years old and it was at my Dad's going away party when we moved to Maine from Chicago. Everybody thought it would be cute to give the kid a sip of thier beer. Well a whole bunch of sips later, I puked all over my moms white couch and carpet in the living room.

Harp Lager, brought over unsolicited by a coworker while watching the Family Guy movie. I was 20, and not even remotely interested. But I figured I may as well see what all the fuss was about. Drank about an ounce - maybe two - from the bottle over the course of half an hour. Couldn't stand it; it was the most disgusting drink I'd ever had. I thought all beer drinkers were nuts.

So glad my brother poured me a glass of La Fin du Monde on my 21st.

I'm way past being able to remember anything before I was about 16 or so but my first whole can of beer was a Colt 45 tall boy. It tasted nasty then and probably tastes nasty now but one can and you were pretty buzzed. Two cans and you were slurring your words and stumbling around. As long as you were underage, it was the best bang for the buck - a sixer was good for 3 guys.

I lived in an apartment fresh out of high school. We had a liquor store on the corner that let us buy 40's of Olde English. We would buy a case every Friday night and choke it down.

For me it was at Shea Stadium, mid 70s, most likely watery draught Rheingold- just a sip out of dad's cup. It didn't discourage me, that's for sure, but did push me towards Imports when I could go into stores and buy my own a few years later.

Those of you with your own kids- what will their answer to this question be when they are adults? My oldest will say Lagunitas Sucks (and that the experience kept him from even wanting to try beer again for at least 10 more years  The look on his face was pure gold, I'll never forget it).

Was on a High school trip when i was 14 and staying in hotels. Walked into one of the rooms where older guys were staying and they were drinking high life. I accepted and did my best not to make a bitter beer face when taking my first sip of the champagne of beers. Luckily all beer doesn't taste like high life, or i would be buying lots of liquor.

SNPA, visiting my older sister up at CSU Chico, strait from the bottle I threw up halfway through, I had just ate a sandwich, luckily there was a trash can nearby. I then finished the bottle, but I found beer pretty nasty and avoided it for the most part until I turned 21 I revisited beer again, this time I enjoyed beer (grimbergen blonde). I tried SNPA a week after that and preceded to burn through the six pack mmm good thing I have a SN northern harvest sitting in the fridge it's calling me now.

Having a sip of beer from my Pop's pony bottle of High Life is probably one of my earliest memories. He loved those things, cute l'il stubby bottles that they are. Later on (7 or 8), me and my bestie would mimic them by have chugging contests with these l'il apple juice bottles whilst the adults were gettin' pissed. I learned it from watching you, Dad, I learned it from watching you...

Snuck a Budweiser out of the fridge probably at age 6 and cracked it open and took a sip to show off to friends... immediately spit it all over the place. First beer I actually drank in full was a Genny, and I didn't enjoy it much more. I eventually came around.

Can't remember first sip/sample. The first whole beer I drank was a Leinie's Berryweiss. At the time I liked it for the sweetness, but now I can't stand the stuff.

I can't imagine any of us actually "enjoyed" our first beer. But we all probably manned up if we were in front of friends or older bothers and acted like we did.

I'm pretty sure it was Bud Ice but I cant be sure, This would have been while visiting my sister in college at Umass Amherst at 15 to see a Beck concert. I thought beer was gross until I moved into the hippie dorm in college and was introduced to Berkshire Brewing, Long Trail, Catamount and a few others.

Schmidt's (C. Schmidt & Sons, Philadelphia, PA). A lot of folks drank Schmidt's in the Northeast in the 60s & 70s. The Philadelphia brewery was sold in the mid-70s, and the brand was eventually sold to G. Heilman in the late 80s.

Corona. My dad told to drink it because it would make my stomach ache go away. I was 3 or 4. It was late also so I'm pretty sure he gave it to me so I can stop whining about my stomach and go to sleep.

The first beer my best friends and I ever tried was Tequiza because my friend said his dad said it was good. Man that shit was terrible!

First experience with beer was a couple sips of my grandmother's Milwaukee's Best when I was 9 years old. It was absolutely horrible. My first whole beer was a Budweiser with my uncle when I was 15. He was always cool about letting us have a couple at his house, so long as we stayed there and didn't drive.
