Either Rogue Shakespeare Stout, Rogue Chocolate Stout, or Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout...can't remember. I just remember the store and they stocked these. Then after that, it was Old Raspy.

Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout. 1989 or 1990. There weren't many stouts on the shelves back then.

Victory Storm King. From that first experience, I knew stouts were a style I wanted to delve into.

Guinness. My friends just got back from Ireland so they brought me some swag haha. Old Rasputin was the first stout from the craft beer section

Mine was also a Guinness. Now I am glad to know there are so many better stouts out there.

Guinness. A palate changer in so many ways of the BMC wasteland of my youth. Flash forward to FBS. Totally showed me what stouts can be. I will never turn down a Guinness, but there are so many other amazing examples; it's become my favorite style.
