It would have to have been a Guinness, but once I found Murphy's that became my go to stout. Spent a lot of time in the late 90's drinking Black and Tans in Vermont which locally was Guinness and Long Trail.

Old Rasputin was my first. I always did a Black and Tan then finally had the Guinness. I enjoyed the 150 also.

    Guinness.

First craft stout? Local brewery to me, I forgot what they call it now, but it was a milk stout. I was pretty much sold from there.

I think it was probably Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout. Funny I had no problem with bombers who I started drinking craft beer??

First one locally I believe was Bells Double Cream But I might be off on that too?

Guinness. Still a classic and there isn't anything I'd rather drink with some bangars or shepherd's pie, (or maybe a B&T with Smithwicks)

I believe it was Samuel Smith's Oatmeal but I'm having a hard time remembering exactly.

First one was a Guinness as well. Second was KBS. I took a sip and literally said out loud...Holy F

Talk about a big jump! I'll still order Guinness from time to time...esp if the only other options are BMCs

Guinness got me interested in Stouts...and KBS demonstrated the great things that can be accomplished with the style. Simply amazing stuff.

American, Am. Dbl, Coffee, Dry Irish, English, Foreign/Export, Milk, Oatmeal, RIS...I enjoy all of the various styles...and I have have Guinness to thank for the intro! My Goodness My Guinness!

    Guinness ofc.

My first true "craft" stout was Great Lakes Edmund Fitz (stout porter whatever!)

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout was my first stout experience. Either Left Hand Milk Stout or Rogue Chocolate Stout for my first American.

Tennents Sweetheart stout. Or Mackesons. I remember trying both as a kid and thinking they were awful

When I started drinking properly then it would have been Guinness

Guinness, underage in a bar on Catalina Island in the off season. 19 y/o me had never drank anything beyond bud light.

Took me an hour to finish it..."it's so thick!"

    Lol, me.

yes Guinness of course. In truth I still like a good Irish Dry Stout. Prefer Beamish or Murphys. Also nothing better when in Ireland in a pub. And at 4% you can usually get home safe.

Black Xantus I was so dumb I was drinking it out of the bottle...I dumped it out. I've learned a little more a beer since, and have drank several since. Funny how your first beers always are.

Guinness, for sure. I was a freshman in college...2003... those were the days! Absolutely loved it ice cold, but then we tried it at room temp, "Euro style," and had a really tough time forcing it down, haha.

Guinness Extra Stout. I was quite shocked by it because it have a VERY bitter coffee like taste to it.
