What was The One that sold you on sour beers?

For me, the process began as I learned to appreciate farmhouse ales and then moved on to lambics and more. I guess my "gateway" sour was the Lindemans Frambroise. Thankfully, I have had the opportunities to move on to much better examples.

I'm wanting to introduce my friends to sour beers but I don't want them to have a bad first experience. What's the key to weening a casual craft beer drinker onto the acidic goodness?

It took me roughly 2 years of trying Sours on and off again before I was finally into them (hardest beer style for me to ever get into). I would say Black Angel from Wicked Weed might have been the Sour to finally get me into them for good. Wicked Weed in general for me was where I really began to love Sour and Wild Ales and now they are my favorite beers to drink in addition to IPAs/DIPAs.

I think it was Rodenbach Grand Cru. Had me hook line and sinker.

Sour #2 did it for me, I haven't been able to stop drinking them since.

I was also trying to acquire the taste for about 2 years. Everything was ok, but it all tasted the same. Then one night I happened to be in just the right "state of mind" and I cracked open a Swamp Head Movin' On. It hit the spot beyond description and sours have never tasted the same since.

I still don't really consider "hooked," but the first sour I'd actually enjoyed was Duchesse

Wicked Weeds Oblivion and Genesis got me into the style. I saw a friend over the weekend and asked him if he liked sours. He told me no, but I had brought a Pear Bear with me. He tried it and immediately said he loved it and he was glad he tried it because the one he had before had turned him off to the style.

jolly pumpkin noel de calabaza. never thought to try a sour but luckily JP brands their sours as every other variety of beer despite the beer in question not necessarily being anything like that style...i ordered something else at a bar and they were out of it so i randomly picked noel de calabaza as a backup seeing "belgian strong dark ale." still a top 3-5 beer for me, how little i see this beer mentioned on here has convinced me that i am just not a sour expert because i think it's as good as almost anything i've ever tried. i've explored many sours since then but funny enough jolly pumpkin's are still my favorite and never again will i pay the absurd prices for RR or bruery offerings over them.

Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge was the first one I had and it instantly clicked for me. Anything like that and Rodenbach is basically the quintessential introductory beer to the style.

Rodenbach Grand Cru was one of the first I had and immediately was interested in sours. Still love that beer to this day

Although not really a sour, Lindemans Framboise first tempted my taste buds and then there were...
