Well the one grandfather I knew grew up in St. Louis so Bud ran through his veins.

My father grew up in South Dakota but they were so poor that he and his brother were shipped off to live with his Uncle Lee and Aunt Agnes in Trimble County , Kentucky. Uncle Lee was definitely a bootlegger during prohibition. My Dad once told a story of the beer bottles beneath their bunk bed exploding. You would not find a beer label on those bottles

I just know my one grandfather never drank and the other drank enough for three people. Rolling Rock was his drink

Both grandads died when I very young. Dad drank Carling black label and narragansett from the original Cranston brewery. They say your sense of smell is what lingers the longest in your memory......
Oh the smell of viceroy's, gansett and the ocean in the morning!!!!

    Enjoy By 4-20-39?

They are both gone now, but I remember one drinking Coors cans exclusively

Miller High Life (cans), after he stopped drinking beer he switched to Canadian Club & 7-Up.

He hardly drinks now, but I do catch him enjoying a Mikes Hard Lemonade from time to time, (he calls it kool-aid :grinning:).

Never was of age to drink with my Grandfathers. From what I remember they were both into Vodka on the rocks. My Father has continued that tradition and I've slowly gotten him into craft beer as I've gotten older. One of my favorite things is watching his expression when he tastes some special beers that we share.

That pic has to be precious to you. It's too bad that we all don't have something like that for keeping the memories for our kids.

Neither Grandfather drank beer (1=scotch and lots of it, 1=tee-totaling pastor) but my grandmother drank Schaefer, mostly because it was cheap - $1 a six at the Bi-Lo

My moms dad was a pastor, never drank the whole time I knew him. My GF on my dads side only drank whatever cheap rotgut whiskey he could get his hands on. He actually died and alcoholic. My old man was a Stroh's man although he developed type 2 diabetes and does not partake anymore except when I pay him a visit in Florida. Then he sneaks sips of my craft brews when mom isn't looking.....

For you old-time 'Sconies - Peoples and Chief Oshkosh, and occasionally Pabst . Mostly homade elderberry wine at home, though.
