Gimme nada...fruit is not authentic to the style.

Nothing. The better sort of beer bars will ask if you want an orange or whatever with it. Of course I say no.
However, if they don't, and it shows up with that citrus hanging on the rim, I don't make a big deal of it, I just take it off and leave it on the counter.

 

I'll give the copout contingency answer, it depends on the beer. Some are worth adding, some are as yemenmocha noted better unadulterated.

If I find anyone putting fruit in my weizen, heads will start rolling. If there's an 'anti fruit in beer club' out there, I'd like to join it right now.

 

Fruit just distracts from the awesomeness. If the beer is good, it doesn't need fruit on the rim (but if that's what you're into, go for it)

 

I'm drinking a Vitus as I type this and I WILL KILL any man or woman who approaches me with a wedge of anything.

 

This is the only exception I tolerate to my 'no fruit' rule, 'cause something like, say, Corona is so damn shitty it needs something, anything to mask the taste of its failure.

If I ever see a slice of lemon in my Weihenstephaner, though, then I enter rampage mode. That, or I just mildly complain about it on here.

I try to drink the best weizens available and those are certainly do not need any fruit.

 

Adding a lemon slice to Hefeweizen is not tradition in Germany, though a certain style of Weizenbier (Berliner Weisse) is mixed with a variety of sweet syrups, so it’s not like German beer drinkers are too precious about adding fruity flavors to their beer. “In north [Germany] I have seen it, but very rarely,” says European beer expert Ron Pattinson of the lemon garnish. “In the south, it would be seen as sacrilege to put anything in beer. [However], Germans do make a Radler [the beer equivalent of an Arnold Palmer] with Hefeweizen, mixing it 50-50 with lemonade.

Nothing. I'd be bummed if I ordered any beer and fruit came in it without me asking.

 

If I want fruit, I order a lambic or a SA Cherry Wheat !

 

Just send it back and tell them you want it "neat"!
