Pass on the wedge. I understand the novelty, but I have no need for it. Unless it comes on the rim of my Erdinger or something I'm not going to make a big deal- it's fruit for fruits sake.

depends on the beer. After trying this beer i always get blue moon with a lime rather than an orange.

My neighbors like the radlers and especially a beer by Karlsberg called Mixery which is a Pils/cola blend. I have tried it and it is just too sweet. In the summer I also see the locals order a hefe on tap or pour it out of the bottle and add Coke to it. One of my German friends drinks a hefe that is made to be drank from the bottle and it is mixed with grapefruit juice. Not good.

    As for myself no fruit.

In Southern Germany they call that a Diesel -- in fact, I heard it called that not too far from you in Würzburg.

    In a word, yeck.

As far as I know it's called a Diesel almost everywhere, was the same in Berlin, Kassel and Aachen.
    disgusting.

Just because it is Germany does not mean that the masses are any less susceptible marketing and drinking bad beer than in the US. A vast majority drinks the likes of becks, mixed/fruit beer drinks.

In much of the former East Germany it's called -- perhaps more appropriately -- a "dreckiges" (transl. a "dirty" beer)

I did that once, kind of by accident. Was served a wit at a place I was a regular, from my regular bartender, with some piece of fruit. I tried to say "what the hell is that on my glass" in a funny way, but it came out in an assholish way. So, I made sure I tipped good and all was well. About a week later, Im there, different wait staff, new ones in fact who I havent seen before. I order a wit, it comes unfruited. Everyone else is getting fruit on their beer.

They never fruited me again. I felt bad about it at the time, but mission accomplished.
