I'm starting to think that's the best approach to IPAs. Lol...

If I'm drinking an IPA and it tastes like it's a part of a complete breakfast, than I'm good.

And, no, for those who wake-and-bake, I'm talking about citrus.

I thought you meant coffee; LOL. Ok, folks; now there would be a flawed poll: Your IPA Preference: Citrusy or Roasty?

I love em' both, but nothing beats a fresh, citrusy ipa.

Dank's the one that brung me. Dank's the one I'm dancing with. (Though citrusy is attractive too and I take it for a spin once in a while.)

Funny you're all bent out of shape, getting offended at perceived slights when it's actually you who are being condescending and insulting. All I did was merely point out your list of options was pretty narrow. You're the one who starts calling people assholes for a mistake you made.

Not everyone drinks an IPA for just those two flavor profiles, that was the only point I was making. I don't understand why you're getting so worked up.

I voted dank. I like my beer to smell a little citrus but taste like a Christmas Tree

The thing that bothers me is that my initial poll of "Citrusy or Piney" was met with a bunch of "You don't know what you're talking about" kind of responses. My attempt at clarifying with "Citrusy or Dank" was met with additional dismissive snark. It's not a flawed poll. If I asked "Which do you prefer: Citrus or Bubblegum"; then THAT would be a flawed poll. I'm tired of getting a lesson on beer complexity when I just wanted to know if people gravitate towards one type of flavor and aroma over another.

Many IPAs I like are both dank and citrusy. I'll vote for IPA's that don't have a bitter finish.

I've seen the same beer labeled as fruity and as dank and piney by different Ba's. So it's all in the interpretation, but I favor beers that I percieve to be bright, kinda light and fruity, Citra based hop profiles do it for me, But I do like pine too, the skill of the brewer counts here, a well made ipa is just that. A Poorly done Citra hopped out the ass brew is just that, poorly done.
