To me Captains Daughter is the best of both worlds. Citrusy up front and pure pine tree on the finish.

Really depends what I'm in the mood for but I tend to lean more towards tropical

Tropical juicy fruits all the way.

Had a Mayflower IPA about a week or two ago after about a year of not having it, and it wasn't my thing anymore. To much pine going on.

    Tastes chance.

Tropical with a bit of pine & citrus. Sometimes I could do without the catty or weedy flavor, especially when it dominates...

I like tropical, but find i can't drink it throughout an evening. It gets too sticky and drives palate fatigue.

Love the New Zealand hop varieties with tropical fruit notes.

I voted Tropical. Not a fan of the pine.

I love the pine notes in an IPA but there's something about a tropical/citrus oriented IPA that really appeals to me.

Same here. That's the beauty of it--finding something new too. My standard for citrus. Laurel wood Workhorse or Hopworks Organic, and when I want a nuttier finish. Ninkasi Total Domination. That said, I'm usually looking for something new.

Certainly do not want to offend good old Piney, but it's tropical that gets me all giggly inside. That being said, piney is certainly no slouch...but I had to pick a favorite, right?

I like both, but I feel like I get burnt out on tropical/fruit-forward IPA's quicker than the ones that have a strong pine presence. I voted for Piney, just because I can appreciate them more consistently than the other.
