...found someone to drink the rest, otherwise I would have done the same. Tasted like vanilla flavored corn syrup

A few Stone beers have become drain pours....stochisticity and old guardian.....lesson learned.also 1940's barrel redemption bourbon aged stout.....how do you mess a ba stout up?it was terribly bitter, almost sour.

These threads always crack me up. People posting beers that are good but just not styles they enjoy or can handle. Just remember, just because someone posted a beer as a drain pour on this thread does not mean it is a bad beer. Everyone has different tastes which is part of respecting beer.

Some of Stone's one off bomber stuff is hit or miss for sure. But Old Guardian is one of the best examples of a barleywine available. Could be you don't like true to style barleywines.

There's a lot of truth to this statement. For example, I would probably drain pour an AAL because I don't like that style

Yeah exactly, lesson learned that im not a barleywine/ipa fan. To be honest though ive always been mostly disappointed by Stone.

Yeah, if you don't like overly bitter beers, you'll hate Old Guardian...unless you cellar it for 3 years and then you may like it a lot more.

I get ya. If you're not an IPA fan, you pretty much always will be disappointed by Stone as you said. If you want to give the brewery a shot at redemption- try their Russian imperial stout especially one with a couple years on it. Excellent example of the style and one of my favorites.

Full Disclosure; I didn't actually pour it out, but had there been a drain close to me I would have. And, it was all I could do to choke it down...Cigar City Good Gourd on Nitro. Don't do it.

Meh, Evil Twin Mission Gose. It was ok, but I decided after 2/3 of the bomber that enough was enough.

I like sours and funky beers. Those were horribly rancid and infected AND the labels don't say anything about them being sour. "AGES WELL"...no they don't.

First and only total drain pour to date was Creme Brulee. I can see it's merits when used as part of a dessert or cooked with, but by itself and me alone with a 22oz bottle....nope!

If you don't like them than why the hell do you drink them?

Had same Spike and Jerome's beer and honestly can say its the worst beer I've ever had. Got into a tussle with someone on this sight who argued it SHOULD taste like ass and bad soy sauce mixed with stale balsamic vinegar and vomit.
Just a complete disgrace and a total rip off "collaboration". Similar to Joint Custody but at least you could drink that....
