Odell IPA and SN Celebration get my vote. I feel they're very consistent and don't fall off quickly with age like a lot of others.

All IPAs should be rated as fresh, right? I mean you could drink your favorite IPA the first day off the line and be blown away, but get that same beer two months out and be sadly let down.

Ja, this is a good point Gemmell brings up, the longer a IPA sits around the less consistency in flavour is possible, This is ironic seeing that in my understanding hops as used initially in IPA as in to bring to India from the Britons was used in part as a preservative...

I suppose this is all based on region. Your most consistent IPA brewer is probably pretty close you. Likewise with the east and west coast. Around me (Chicago) Revolution's Anti-Hero has been doing great. But Lagunita's IPA is always my go to, as well as Maximus and Hop Stoopid.

Yeah, most people think this was to maintain flavor, but actually it was simply as a preservative, to keep the beer from going bad. Hops are a natural preservative.

Regardless of bottle age? Absolutely not. I love Odell IPA and I love that AZ gets/goes through so much of it so often that I hardly ever have to worry about bottles dates. However, I can absolutely tell that I'm drinking a 3 week old bottle vs a 4 month old keg...like what happend Saturday night at a friend's bar.

    Wow, I couldn't disagree more.

I'll preface this by saying I absolutely love fresh on the point 60 Minute, a true marvel of a beer. However I stopped buying it on a regular basis because it is almost never consistent. I've had mind blowing experiences with it and I've had drain pour experiences with it.....yes drain pour. In fact a buddy of mine (another beer head) and myself had it on tap Sunday (gave it yet another try) and be both looked at each other with total disbelief as to how bad it was. We had the bar drain it and replace it with a different beer. Now, was it an old keg? The owner of the bar said no. I would have dismissed it as a one time thing, only that was not the first time. I've had almost as many bad 60 Minutes as good 60 Minutes, both bottle and draft. At least with the bottle now you get bottle dating which you can see if it's old and you can see if that's part of the problem. Draft you never know what you are getting.

The thing is I really want this beer to be consistently good, I really do. Fresh and on point it's awesome.

stone, lagunitas, sculpin, all of the jacks, heady, bells, dfh, deschutes, flower power etc.... I think it would be easier to talk about the IPAs that are not consistent......
