I went in to finally pick up a bottle of Fantome Extra Sour that a nice store owner held for me. I'd never even seen a bottle of this somewhat new bottling, despite my efforts. I just couldn't seem to get a bottle, despite the fact that it's a "new beer" and despite seeking a trade here on BA and searching the internet.

I've pretty much been able to get or taste, one way or another, just about whatever I've wanted through trades, purchases, traveling, tastings, bars, etc. Somehow, this one was really hard for me to get.

It got me thinking that this new bottle should not have been so hard to get! What's been your most elusive "relatively new bottle?"

Firestone Walker Sucaba. I found a bottle of Sucaba sitting on the shelf in a store about 3 weeks ago. Waiting until Christmas to crack this one open.

BCBCS. Just as I was checking out of TW in Alexandria, VA; guess what I spied with my blue eyes? Two forlorn looking BCBCS bottles luring behind the counter. Naturally, me and my friend pounced on that shit.

Surprisingly, not too long ago I thought I would never get BCBS -- that was before I began trading. Now I have 16 bottles. Still, I did not expect to get a Cherry Rye...but I DID! Hopefully going to score a couple more at some point

Cherry Adam from the Wood and Mother of all Storms. Brewery only releases but luckily one bottle shop in Washington sent people down to Oregon to bring back a case of each.

Abyss. Though i must admit i have not been going out of my way to find it, i have wanted it for years and it had never shown up in my area. Suddenly, it appeared in my local shop the other day, and i pounced! Dissident suddenly appeared for the first time in my area yesterday, also. SWOOP!!

Gotta go grab another today before they're gone.

That's amazing. I got lucky when I saw it. There was actually 3 bottles and I only bought one. I went back the next week and there was none left. I was quite disappointed because I would've scooped them up.

In addition I did have a bottle BCBCS and I drank it and quickly realized that I need another bottle and now I can't find any..
