Your Own Personal White Whale

Not a super whale, but I've always wanted to try a BC Cherry Rye. I think it has been on my wants since I've joined BA. Alas... One day...

 

Heady and then one of the DIPA's from 3 floyds. Arctic Panzer Wolf or permanent funeral. No real reason other than I really dig the bottle but APW would be my first choice of the two.

As a bonus a total not whale but one I've always missed getting to try for whatever reason. Gorillanaut by straight to ale. I don't even think it's supposed to be that great but at 275 IBU's I gotta know what it's like.

Green, Julius, Gandhi bot, Mexican cake and anything from New Glarus. It's tough to even get a sniff of these living in AZ.

 

Until very recently CBS was exactly that, but fortunately I ended up at a tapping where I was able to get 3 glasses of CBS and 2 of KBS. This was my second tasting of KBS and it was awesome, but the CBS really blew it out of the water as I loved the sweetness added by the maple syrup barrels.

Permanent Funeral, IMHO, is far and away better. The single best beer I've had from 3 Floyds to date, and I've had Bourbon Vanilla DL.





To be fair, I don't really have the normal type of "white whale". I have things that I'd love to try, but I am not going out of my way to do so. If I get to try them, awesome. If not, oh well, I'll get to try something else.

But, since everyone else is listing theirs, mine would probably be Atrial Rubicite, WW Genesis, Notorious, KBBS (just to see if the hype is warranted, hopefully it's not like when I tried Black Tuesday), FfaC, and Beatification (any of them). Funny enough, I've had the rest of the normal -tion's from Russian River, but I've never even seen a bottle of it in person, let alone got to try it.

 

I don't really have a beer I've been pining over as I've been fortunate to try some really great stuff over the past several years. If I had to pick just one though, it would be Alpine Great - I have a sweet spot for barrel-aged barley wines!

 

Lucky enough to land Abyss in my first trade! Biggest whale I'm after now is probably Dark Lord

Heady Topper, I tried trading Abrasive for it once but didn't get any takers maybe someday I'll get my hands on one

 

I would take that in a second. I go up to VT a ton for Heady next time abrasive is released let me know.
