Pliny the Younger. Despite hearing about how "easy" it is to get some from all my beer-industry-connected friends, I have a M-F 8-5 job and can't/won't take unpaid time off just to drink a beer. I also will not buy a charity raffle ticket for the chance to win a glass. F**k that.

How do people have white whales? I must be the only one on this site who doesn't have an aquarium for one.

oh I've gone and tried many times. But ever single time I go they don't have it or I just missed it. I think its my whale due to how much it has eluded me.

These were two of my four white whales as of six months ago. Making some amazing friends and winning a beer lottery has helped me drink all four of my white whales within two months. Not sure if retiring from white whale searching is best or re-calibrating and picking a few more out is the best option TBH.

I would like to travel through time and experience all the beers of ages past, while careful not to step on any butterflies.

I would also like to try King Henry.

Right now it's probably a tie between West Ashley, Framboos and VBDL. Used to be Hommage or DDG but managed to trade for a bottle of each. However I gave so much up to get em, I'm almost scared to drink them!

Westy 12. I was just getting into beer when they did their 2012 US release. Called a beer snob buddy to ask him if it was worth $85/six pack and he told me to get 2 if I could.

The day of sale comes and you need to line up at 10am to get a number. I work across the street from the bottle store so no worries. I wake up that morning and feel like a truck hit me. Not food poisoning, but a full on case of the flu.

Get dressed for work and show up and looked so bad everyone told me to leave. Sucked it up until around 10am then went and got my number. You then had to come back at 12pm to buy. Went home and fell over into bed. I was asleep in mid-air, I'd fortunately set my alarm for 11:45 or so.

Get back to the store wearing sweats and looking like death warmed over. It's a mob scene and they can't get their Square card readers to work right. I finally tell the owner "I have cash, can I get my beer and leave before I pass out" at which point they open a cash only line and clear half the store.

I still have one bottle left.

Just finished my quest for a beer from every state. There is little to no chance of you getting that all in one trade. Some of those states are a pain.

DBH. But I'm not willing to give what it takes to get one, so I probably won't ever try it. That's OK. There's 1000 other BA stouts I can tick through...

Bodhi is truly great, and C-Bus is an awesome town to visit should you get the chance. I believe they are going to start canning or bottling it soon, so your chances will get greater.

    Real whale: Mornin' Delight.

Not real whale: Pineapple Bodhi. I miss that beer every time they do it somehow.
